VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection

  • C&CZ provides a VPN server to gain secured access to the network. Your external computer becomes part of the campus network. In this way you can get access to services that are usually only accessible to your computer on the campus.

Examples of such services are connecting disk shares, X-Win32, external library journals, etc. For the use of the University library one does not need VPN, because t the library has a proxy website, which can be used from anywhere on the Internet after logging in with your RU-password (for employees) or KISS-password (for students).

We have examples of installation and configuration of the VPN for Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 98 and Linux.

  • To use this VPN server you will need an account with password for the Faculty of Science. Visit DIY (Do It Yourself).
