  • For Firefox en Thunderbird it would be smart to save your userprofile somewhere under 'My Documents' (= home directory = H:\ drive).
  • C:\Documents and Settings\loginname is the place where your profile is stored. The profile contains your Desktop, settings, etc. The space for the profile is limited because otherwise it would take to much time for login/logout since the profile must be copied at that moment from/to the server.
  • Your profile is not meant for storing your documents: store them in your Home directory and not on your desktop.
  • Backup software disciminates between Home directories (important) and other data.
