Péage
General
Péage is the print/scan/copy system of the Radboud University for staff and students. General information can be found on the Péage website.
As of august 4 the C&CZ printing and budget system is replaced by the campus wide Péage printing system.
On this page, C&CZ provides information specific for staff and students of FNWI.
Printers listed below have been removed from the C&CZ print system and migrated to Péage. Please remove printers that are no longer part of the C&CZ print system from your computer.

Printbudget
As of august 4 the printbudget can not be topped up anymore. Students can use their remaining budget on the non-KM printer escher. Remaining budgets of students will be transferred by C&CZ to Péage. Remaining budget of departments will be refunded to the departmental account ("kostenplaats").
Terminology
- MFP: multi functional printer
Known problems
- Pincode does not function anymore: You need an u/s/e/f account to logon to the MFP for printing, copying or scanning.
- Printer offline: Choose \\payprint01 or \\payprint02 instead of \\payprint03
- Remote Downlevel Document: When printing from Linux, the MFP shows "Remote Downlevel Document" instead of the name of the printed file.

Differences with the C&CZ print system
What | Who | Difference |
---|---|---|
Follow-me | everybody | Printjobs are held in a queue for 12 or 48 hours. During that time you can select them at the MFP to be printed at that moment. |
Scan-to-me | everybody | Typing the email address is no longer necessary, since one is logged in on the MFP. Therefore the email address is known. |
Secure printing | everybody | Because you have to login at the MFP to print a job, there is no real possibility of a data leak due to sensitive output laying around printers. |
No unwanted color printing | everybody | Because you have to login at the MFP to print a job, you can choose to print grayscale at the printer. |
No banner pages | everybody | Because you have to login at the MFP to print a job, there is no need to separate jobs with banner pages. |
Accounts/authentication | everybody | With RU account (u/s/f/e number) and PIN code (or RU password). Or with PIN-code first and then campus card. The Library of Science services guest accounts and guest cards. |
Copying | staff | Copying is also charged to the account ("kostenplaats") of the department. If you work for several departments, the costs are divided between these accounts. |
students | Because copying is charged to the Péage account, students can make copies on all Péage MFP's. On C&CZ-managed MFP's students had to scan and print to get the same result. | |
student organisations | These can request a separate pass. | |
Only 1 budget group | everybody | Staff costs are charged to their departmental charge account(s) ("kostenplaats(en)"). Students and guests must have sufficient Péage budget on their RU-account. |
Topping up budget | staff | Not necessary anymore. Charged to departmental budget ("kostenplaats") each month, just like a credit card. |
students | Preferably with iDeal. | |
guests | At the Library of Science. |
Printing with Péage
User groups
Péage recognizes three user groups, each should be using a dedicated printserver and printqueue:
printserver | printqueue | UNC - Windows style | URI - IPP style | |
---|---|---|---|---|
students | payprint01.ru.nl | RU-Print | \\payprint01.ru.nl\RU-Print | smb://payprint01.ru.nl/RU-Print |
RU services employees | payprint02.ru.nl | RU-Print02 | \\payprint02.ru.nl\RU-Print02 | smb://payprint02.ru.nl/RU-Print02 |
Faculty employees | payprint03.ru.nl | RU-Print03 | \\payprint03.ru.nl\RU-Print03 | smb://payprint03.ru.nl/RU-Print03 |

You need your RU-account (u/f/e/s-number and RU-password) to send print jobs to the printer.
Important: Choose the correct server and queue, see User groups.
- Step 1
- Select Start, in the Help / Search area enter Credential Manager and launch the found application.
- Step 2
- The Windows Vault appears. Click on Add a Windows credential next to the header Windows Credentials.

Printing with Péage on a Mac OS X machine
You need your RU-account (u/f/e/s-number and RU-password) to send a print job to the printer.
Important: Choose the correct server and queue, see User groups.
- Step 1
- Select System Preferences, select Printers & Scanners
- Step 2
- Click on the + (plus) sign below the list of printers.
- See if you have an item Advanced in the menu bar.
- Whenever this item is not present: Right click in this menu bar and choose Customize Toolbar....
- Drag the item Advanced into the menu bar.
- Click on Done and, again, click on the item Advanced in the menu bar.
- Step 3
- Enter printer data:
- Type: Windows printer via spoolss

- Name: Free to type text field, eg. RU-print03 (this will become the name of the printer in the printer list)
- Location: Free to type text field, eg. Péage Konica Minolta printers
- Use: Change Choose a Driver... to the printer driver, eg. Generic Postscript Printer
- Finally click Add.
- A new window will appear with an option Duplex Printing Unit. Mark the check box as active and click OK.

- Enter your RU-account, preceded by ru.nl\, eg. ru.nl\s1234567, and the matching RU-password.
- If the printer icon is missing from the Dock, the dialog window requesting <stron>Name and Password will popup.
- Login with your RU-account (ru.nl\u1234567) and RU-password.
- Select if desired Remember this password in my keychain, so your RU-account and RU-password will be remembered, authentication for print jobs is no more needed.
- Clicking OK will, after a second (depending on the size of your print job), remove the print job from the queue. The job is then received by the print server and remains
- in its print queue for final printing.

History of Project Péage
In June 2011 a (second) Proof of Concept project was successfully executed at several faculties including FNWI.
As of July 2011 a Péage multifunctional is available at the Faculty of Science in the Huygens building. The multifunctional printer is located near the vending machines in the cafetaria.
As of February 13, 2012, students of the Faculty of Science can use Péage, including the Péage MFP in the Huygens building.
Half 2016, a test of Péage is carried out for students and staff. The plan is to gradually move all KM MFP's from the C&CZ printsystem to Péage.
Students can clean their account on the non-KM printer escher. Remaining budgets of students will be transferred by C&CZ to Péage. Remaining budget of departments will be refunded to the departmental account ("kostenplaats").
On 2016-08-04 the migration of printers on the ground floor to Péage has started. As of 2016-08-10 all publicly available Konica Minolta printers within the Huygens building have been migrated to Péage.
