Maple by Waterloo Maple's Maplesoft is an interactive computer-algebra system, for which C&CZ has acquired a site-license through CANdiensten.

In the past the contract was always valid for 3 years, with license files that were valid for 1 year. The current contractt and license run until January, 2009.

Staff and students of the Faculty of Science (FNWI) may use Maple freely on campus and at home.

The other faculties have not paid for the license. Therefore they may are only allowed to use Maple incidentally without paying for the license. If they start to regularly use Maple, they have to buy a license from C&CZ for a price that is a good deal for both parties.

The CD's of Maple 11 for either Windows, Linux, Macintosh or Solaris can be borrowed from C&CZ system administration. After installation one has to do the update to version 11.01 with help of the Maple support website.

Older versions are also available.
