  • GSM

To forward your internal phone number to your GSM, have the telephony contact person of your department send an email to , specifying the internal phone number, the GSM-number and the KOSTENPLAATSNUMMER (account number) of the department. After C&CZ telefoonbeheer has done the programming, the user can switch to FOLLOW-ME by pressing *22 and DONT-FOLLOW-ME with #22. It is technically not possible to program a follow-me 06-number from the phone itself.

The Huygens building originally had poor mobile coverage, it has features of a Faraday cage. Therefore, in 2011 a DAS installation (distributed antenna system) was installed, providing good coverage for mobile telephony of networks of connected providers. At the end of 2014, almost complete coverage in the Huygens building for mobile phones has been realised for the Vodafone network that is used for Vodafone Wireless Office. This became possible, because Ericsson and Vodafone were interested in doing a pilot in the basements and transport corridors of the Huygens building with the first live enterprise deployment of the Radio Dot system worldwide. This reminds some veterans of June 1987, when a pilot was carried out at the Faculty of Science by PTT (now KPN), Philips, SURF and the university with the first PABX in The Netherlands with a large amount of data traffic. This ISDN-prepared PABX is still in use for speech phone calls in the periphery of the Huygens building.

Only Vodafone is connected, this is used for the Vodafone Wireless Office (VWO) mobile business telephony. Because of the high cost it is not likely that other providers will connect shortly. Calls from all SKU desktop phones and all VWO mobiles to all SKU desktop phones and all VWO mobiles are free of charge. All this is irrespective of the location of the GSM, as long as this is within the Netherlands. Other traffic charges are standard GSM rates (see the Vodafone website). Applications for VWO subscriptions and their associated devices go through the ISC, where up-to-date information can be found.

  • Peripherals

If you have an analog connection, normally telephony management supplies a simple phone for rent. The user can decide to spend his own (departments) money to connect a different OK-ed" phone, wireless (DECT) set, answering machine or fax machine. In case of troubles with this equipment, one should contact the supplier, not C&CZ telephony management, it is impossible to support the diversity of all peripherals.

You are not allowed to connect something different to a digital connection! The PABX-interface is only usable by the phones we supply. The connection of different hardware can damage the PABX (phone switch) and the connected hardware.

Please note: Never disconnect a digital phone or network-adapter from its connection without consulting telephony management. It is absolutely impossible to move a phone by yourself! This will never work, you might only cause damage.
