Upgrade Samba 3.0.28

In March, 2008 C&CZ will upgrade several Samba servers because of security issues. From tests and upgrades of a few 'smaller' servers has been found that this upgrade could cause some problems when connecting network drives.

You will get error messages like:

I:\ is not accessible.

Configuration information could not be read from the domain controller, either because the machine is unavailable, or access has been denied.

You can easily solve these problems yourself:

Solution 1: Reboot the machine. This should, according to information on the Internet, solve your problem in most cases.

Solution 2: You need to disconnect and reconnect the network drive. In this case you need to use your Science account and password, by: Start Windows Explorer. Choose in the menu 'Tools' -> 'Disconnect Network Drive...'. Now choose the network disk causing problems. Make a note of the drive letter and network path. Click OK. Choose again in the menu 'Tools' -> 'Map Network Drive...'. Choose the drive letter and type the network path. Click OK.
